If your cluster bulbs are old replace them for improvement

Had a cluster bulb go out and ordered a replacement from Mitsubishiparts.net. When I installed it, it was noticeably brighter than the others. So, I ordered 2 more. These were for the 3 'main' ones behind the tach, speedo, and right side of tach and fuel guage.

In the first pic I had changed the one for the right side of the tach and the fuel guage. Second pic the other 2 were replaced. This is very easy. The bulbs came with blue covers (condoms) that I removed.

Here is the part number M444537 they are $2.59 each. Shipping is stupid though. If you order 1 shipping is 3.95, but if you order more its $9.95 and it comes in the same size envelope.

Anyways here are the pics. Much brighter now.

I had the same light go out last week. (The one that shows the lights are on) I only ordered 1 bulb so I may have to order 2 more like you said.

Too many mixed reviews. Read a lot about them and they can have issues. Plenty had none, but enough had them to worry me. I definitely want to do led hvac lights, map lights, and license plate lights.

Are these bulb specific to Mitsubishi or do they use a universal bulb type? Mine seem pretty dim and I have my odometer bulb out so I would like to just replace them all at once, but don't feel like ordering up bulbs if I don't need to.

Probably just Mitsubishi. They have a twist base on them that holds them into the cluster circuit board. You'd be hard pressed to find them much cheaper even with the high shipping.

Like this

As far as doing the job it's very easy.

You will need a phillips screwdriver and your hands

-unscrew 2 black screws in the top of the surround of the cluster (black plastic)
-remove surround
-unscrew 3 gold screws around cluster
-maneuver out cluster. This is the hardest part and isn't that hard once you figure it out. Pull the bottom out first and tilt the top. You may need to pop out the acd switch panel. It's just a pop out clip
-unhook 2 harnesses. There is a little push down clip on the top middle of each
-turn gauge cluster over and unscrew brown panel with small screwdriver
-You will see the back of the circuit board with the twist in bulbs. Just twist the ones you want out gently and they will be out. I replaced the three gray ones in the middle.

$40 and it makes them more amber than red not to mention the illumination isn't as smooth. To each his own

This is true unless to get a wide angle led and the proper color.
