Valve Cover - RTV Sealer as gasket alone?

Just wanted to double check if, using ONLY RTV sealer as a gasket would be sufficient.

I know its safe to use, but would it ALONE without a gasket work just fine?

Thanks
Dave

No, don't ever try that. Get the gasket, end of story. Besides, you need the gasket *and* RTV to properly seal it.

oem gasket and sealer it is.
I was planning on getting oem gasket, wouldnt go any other way, but just wanted to see if it was possible to do w/o gasket. Thanks for clarifying.
