How did you wire it up?

I decided to move my battery to the trunk so that I can have the short route intercooler piping and not deal with the small battery because I dont drive the car for days and the small battery would be completely dead most of the time. Now that I put in the oem battery the car is weak when I try to start it and sometimes I have to turn the key a few times before I hear a click so it can fire up.

Any suggestions on what the problem could be? Can anyone explain to me how they wired up the wires in the front?

Thanks

What gauge wire did you use, and what is the ground attached to?

When you move the battery to the trunk you add a lot more wiring distance (and thus resistance) to the system. I'm not saying you necessarily hooked everything up wrong, but any poor grounds will produce more obvious adverse symptoms.

I used "0" gauge wire from the front of the car to the trunk and the ground wire is screwed to one of the metal pieces in the trunk that is covered by the carpeting. I sanded down the spot where the ground is screwed to.

You also need to run a ground wire to the engine block.

i say go with a small battery like the deka ext12 and keep it up front. you'll add weight with the thick gauge wire and its just a pain in the *** to run it to the trunk. the ext weights 9lbs.

Are you sure about this? The block is already grounds at the intake manifold to the fire wall

That's the intake manifolds ground, the actual block needs to be grounded too.

I would add more grounds also. I had alot of issues with my rear mount in my old DSM. Better and more grounds helped also.

Put another ground wire in the trunk ( used the spare tire holding rod hole and a random spot int he trunk). Get some good copper ends too.
If that doesn't work, I'd say look into getting a yellow top.

Also, do you have a circuit breaker?

Are you sure your power and ground wires are both tight on the battery and can't be moved?
