Keep the ix or meet the x?

The true enthusiasts will remain and over time we'll get less of;
"talk me out of selling" threads etc.
If your complaining about the interior you have missed the point entirely of owning the Evo VIII or IX. It's ok if you don't like the car anymore.

With all this talk about the car is starting to look outdated, how so explain?????? why because there are not LEDS or DRL on the front end? as for people complaining about the ****ty interior of the 8s and 9s WAKE UP!! people bought this car for the performance purposes in mind. not to take a nice sunday ride over to starbucks and pick up a latte..
I'm sorry to say it but the comments pertaining to the interior, and what not in this thread, It really makes me think think im on a lexus or other luxury brand forum.... obvisously an evolution wasn't the correct car you should have bought if your worried about creature comforts, LED lights, and A/C seats.....

Your right! Sometimes you do in fact forget why you bought cause I typically don't drive like a jack *** ripping up and down the road all the time. When I did road race the car for the 1 time is was in complete awe of what the car could actually do. Like I said I'm expecting it to do something it wasn't intended to do sometimes, it's not that I dislike it just not happy with it in ter aspects.

Because, that's what automotive enthusiasm is all about, "drive like a jack *** ripping up and down the road." You just don't get it. With that in mind, you can continue to buy props resembling a performance-based attitude, or you can be honest with yourself and buy something that will truly make you happy. This won't.

I did buy the evo at the time for its performance ability. Yea know I guess it really comes down to using the car for what it does best right? So dd it and expecting it to meet my own comfort is pointless since that's what it's not for. What I should really do is drive my 96 Mazda b4000 pickup around town, pay the evo off, track it since I do enjoy doing it, and save for a better commuter. I am really expecting this car to do one thing it's not suppose to do well. What also makes it ruff is the roads in my area, there atrocious. A x I do feel is probably a better option but like some say it may lack in the feel department. I do however think they perform on par with the ix but that's another topic which is not to be discussed in this thread. There is a subtle difference for your average joe weekend racer or spirited driver. I and most cant drive these cars to there full potential anyway.
I personally feel that the IX is more raw, more focused, and a better performing car for the track. It's lighter, makes power easily, and is a blast to drive. It has crap for luxury features, but boy... most of the people who complain about the interior of the Evo VIII-IXs are talking about stock interiors... you should see mine. I drive the car on the street with gutted metal, no sound deadening, no roof liner, no carpets, no door interiors, a 6-point roll cage, and an o2 dump. It has a hilariously stiff suspension, and aero that won't fit over most speed bumps. It's impractical as hell and my wife hates riding in it. It also puts the biggest smile on my face ever and I always get out of the car grinning ear to ear.
If I had to commute daily in it, I would be miserable, but I'm using the right tool for the job. I drive a crappy little beater car during the week, an SUV to tow, and the Evo on nice days for a ride through the back roads, or weekends at the track.

If you have the Money for an X then I'm sure that you have the money for a used M3...
If your willing to trade/sell one Evo that's almost paid for just to get anouther Evo with slightly better interior then you might as well buy sonething that completely different all together that has everything you want. If you going to pay for somthing then it might as well be something that's worth it..

Going from a ix to an older M3 that's nothing but a high end European car that is expensive in repairs is not something I dont want To get into. I bought an evo cause I enjoy working on the car myself. That's what I do enjoy about be simplicity of these cars.

Also, if you end up getting one with the dual-clutch, the services for that also cost a bit more.

What your saying is false! I didn't buy this car as a false props! It's just tuff to dd it considering my area and it starts to wear on me. If that was the case we should all be rally racing these things on dirt roads on the way to work. I live in a large city that is congested so ripping up and down the streets is impossible. Quite frankly working as a paid firefighter I've extricated too many jack asses that rip up and down the streets too many times from their demolished vehicles. If I want to drive like an *** I guess, I'd rather go to the track like a real automotive enthusiast. Maybe a x will make me more happy, that's why I'm on this forum with this particular thread.
Other then that the interior of a evo 8 or 9 is similar to any entry level vehicle... its in all honesty doable. maybe the answer to your thread, in all reality is you could have possibly grown out of the evo. but as i said in one of my prior posts, dont think buying that mongrel of a car will make you feel better. the novelty of owning that will wear off MIGHTY QUICK.
My suggestion get yourself another car to daily. that should not only be easier on your pocket, but also i feel you wont want to wake up the next day saying why did i get rid of my 9?

Well I'm glad I for opinions from x owners and those who owned both. It seems the majority on both sections agree to keep the ix. Some think the x is a more comfortable car but in the end it's really wether or not I will be happy with either. I think I'm going to keep the car, clean it up and do what I wanted to do on the exterior, and use my beater as a daily. I want to get it out on the track more this upcoming season and see where it goes from there. That's where I truly appreciated the car.
