Transmission peeving me off

Wow FJF, i took his advice because no one here would get back to me before i got fluid. And he only used that ams oil in his car now 70k shifts like butter. Plus from what ive searched and read the dealer fluid is nothing special for $100
I switched to the cocktail because thats what the orginal owner used in my car, and said he has tried mulitple things in the Trans and thats what it liked best. so i figured why not give it a shot if thats what it used before.
Lastly getting stock fluid sucks because the closest dealer is like 2/3 hours from me. This car isnt beat to **** either, the previous owner was well known and everyone says he was VERY **** about this car and only put QUALITY parts into it. Which are still in the car.

You can get oem 5spd tranny fluid by the quart ($10.50/qt + shipping) through JacksTransmissions: http://www.jackstransmissions.com/pr...fluid-diaqueen
I bet you have to buy it by the gallon through the dealer plus pay their jacked prices. There are plenty of reasons why your transmission is notchy and grinds other than the fluid (clutch, cmc, csc, clutch pedal adjustment, air in clutch line, etc,.)

Have you try put in different gear right before put in R? Just like what other guy said.
If it happens when its only cold, i wouldnt much worry about. Have you search see if other twin clutch owners having similar issue?

This was suggested to the OP from the onset of his ownership, but apparently his friend knows better:

Yes, the Evo transmission sucks, when you buy a beat to sh/t used one and fruck it up even further. Brilliant.

I must add for the people saying the Evo trans sucks, after nearly 5 years and 40k miles I've never once had a problem getting into gear. And I drive my car, trust me. Only time I had an issue was high rpm lockout due to a smoked Exedy clutch.

Ive tried going into other gears, 1st 3rd and 5th doesnt help.
It also has this problem when warm, well the tough/grinding into R. When warm it shifts into forward gears fine. yes it is a 5 speed.
Pat, i think it may be the clutch, i dont think the floater was polished and im having that typical issue. It holds 400whp (vd dynojet) just fine and hasnt gave me any lock out so far. I daily my car but am never hard on it. Once in a blue moon ill do a quick 2nd or 3rd gear pull but thats maybe once or twice a month if that.

Hey T-Mo, I'm on the redline cocktail in my car also and shifts perfect. Was a bit notchy before I changed the fluid, but now once it's warmed up, just glides into all gears. So I doubt the fluid is the problem.

Use Amsoil 75w-90 or oem that redline cocktail is a joke. It worked great for the old dsm guys but it sucks ***** for these 7,8,9.
And I say that you switched from 10-40 Amsoil to Mobil 10-30? Lol
Mobil 1 is the lowest quality synthetic you can buy. There's a reason why forced performance is highly against them. 06 and before Mobil one was great but as the years went on they took out many additives including taking out alot of zinc which is needed to lube out jb turbos. Just because the oil cap says it doesn't mean it's good.
With your mileage run 10-40 Amsoil high zinc formula.
I have tested my oil 3 times running it and Blackstone laboratories said my car is wearing less then when I tested on 10-30 Amsoil.
Also your clutch is toast it's probably worn so much that adjusting will not help.
Change it to a single plate like a carbontics or Rps .

Well the past two days shes been good, heck last nice driving home from work i was in heaven or something... Smooth as can be shifts easy driving. But i havent really put it into R. The couple times i did she was notchy no fighting into R or grinds tho. Maybe it was because i over filled the trans a little. Ever since i drained the excess its been pretty good.
Regaurdless if i get a dd. Clutch is coming out to get inspected and trans may get sent to jacks if funds are available.

As someone mentioned earlier, try double clutching when the trans is cold. Drive off in first, push in the clutch, put it in neutral, let out the clutch, push the clutch back in, put the trans in second, then let the clutch out.
It sounds complicated, but once you get the hang you can shift quite quickly.
I've tried OEM, BG Synchroshift II, and the redline cocktail. My trans is difficult to shift when cold with all of them. The double clutching helps a lot, though.
