Taking wing off help !

ok guys i know theres like 100 threads on wingless and taking it off but i couldnt find any mention of anyone saying how they removed the plastic clip. i undid the two bolts each side (2 bolts 2 screws) and hairdryer the tape but i c the plastic clip still .. do i pry it off or will it break the clip? how do remove the plastic clip as theres no hole under neath the trunk ????
TIA

I pried mine off, but be careful you don't bend the sheet metal. I did on one side. I'd rather break the clip and buy a new one than bend the sheet metal.

The Trunk deck itself will bend if you are not carefull prying off the wing. Mine popped right off no problem but some of them are a real pain to break that adheisive loose. Be patient and do a little bit at a time you should be alright.

I used the same, except the industrial strength Goo Gone. It made the paint dull. I'll wax it later.

When pulling the plastic clip out you have to be careful not to bend the trunk. That's the sheet metal or body panel we are referring to. Taking the wing off shouldn't cause any bending of the panel. I used a screw driver and pliers for the first side which bent the metal a little. I'm not worried because I'm going to weld the holes shut and repaint. However, the other side I used a body trim clip tool.

I left those on and just covered them with black electrical tape....
have had the same electrical tape on for the last year...still going strong
until I go to an autobody shop and get the holes covered up.

i removed this using flat screwdriver.like i said its not important, cause the bolts holding your wing.and then i covered the holes with plastic plugs from autostore.some ppl using electric tape, some round vinyl stickers from hobby store.and others simply pay $250 for body shop to cover it and respray it.
