-got the gauge just not installed yet
-still running the stock exhaust manifold

-only 36k on the odometer
-spark plugs and wires are pretty new and clean
@3k so I don't need to worry? Highest knock reading was at 12/13.
@wastelandragon sorry brotha. did not figure it out yet. Still trying to. No new symptoms. Still doing the same things.

I'd try to fix the thermostat asap if that's the issue. Just make sure fluids r good, check em on a regular basis, but you should b fine driving it. My car has a crap load of issues but it takes time and money to fix it all. I have a similar issue that you have, ill b changing my spark plug wires because on low idle u can hear the wire arc. But I have a suspicion that I could have a throttle positioning sensor issue

@wastelanddragon alright will keep that in mind. At least I got someone in the same boat. Got some small problems of my own.
Something new: heard a small ticking sound when I popped the hood and left the car running. Engine knock? Sound was near the throttle body/injector area. Any idea?

Yeah my oil is fine. Gonn try changing it again. Spark plugs and wires too.
When I start my car, it sounds like its sick. Don't really know a word for it. The I hear a subtle ticking sound when I pop the hood open still. Really hoping its not engine knock....

If it's sick get some benadryl, hot soup and rest. If it's just light ticking though it's probably just lifter tick.

I would start with a boost test at about 5psi more then you run. A air leak past the maf will freak out the car.
Get rid of the safc and sell it to somebody who can use it. Get your self a proper tune, can be a email tune. Use the money form the safc sell to get you a Tactrix cable, ecuflash, evo scan. Also get you a wideband ( I am using a AEM wired into the rear o2 Sensor for logging). You will be able to see what the car is doing with logs and real time.
I would also check your Fuel Pressure Regulator. Im working on a truck right now that has a hard start issue. After working on it for a bit, I found 1 broken Vac. hose. After renting a fuel pressure tester from Autozone. I tested the Fuel pressure. On key on, it made 58psi, which is good, but fell quickly (should hold pressure) and fell back to 10psi in less then 10 seconds. It needs around 60-50psi to start. It needs a new FPR and a new set of return lines to fix it.
