Dont know...

K, so I try to start up my car, it takes awhile and some gas. My idle feels a little rough. I Drive a little and my knock sensor (safc 2) reading as high as 16 and that's only a couple minutes driving going 35 mph. Really don't know what's wrong. Help me out.

Thanks.

Hear any abnormal noises? Does the oil look clean? How do the plugs look? Compression test results?

36xxx miles
Mods: short air intake, tanabe coilover, mishimoto radiator, full exhaust... everything pretty much close to stock.
Plugs are still good.
Haven't done compression test.

Heard it could be that I'm running too rich?

intake and a full exhaust shouldn't effect anything that much even on the stock tune. Plug gap? Heat range? Boost pressure?

nope. did not get a tune after the mods. was thinking i didnt need a tune with those mods.
what do you mean by heat range? plug gap is straight from the box, ngk plugs.
is there a recommended gap?

Do you by any chance have an Air/Fuel ratio gauge hooked up so we can see some readings?

Do you have an aftermarket tubular exhaust header or the factory cast iron exhaust manifold?

Maybe it is the O2 sensor starting to give up the ghost. Do you only run unleaded gas through it, or have you run some leaded gas as well?

How many miles on the car? Do you think that maybe it could be the fuel pump starting to go south?

How many miles are on the spark plugs? Did you even pull the plugs out and check their condition visually? How many miles are on the plug wires?

Doesn't the safc2 read knock differently? Like 30 counts of knock on that is normal? You can't compare how the safc2 reads knock with how ecuflash reads knock.

@sparky
-got the gauge just not installed yet
-still running the stock exhaust manifold
-been using mobil super premium gas
-only 36k on the odometer
-spark plugs and wires are pretty new and clean

@3k so I don't need to worry? Highest knock reading was at 12/13.

@wastelandragon sorry brotha. did not figure it out yet. Still trying to. No new symptoms. Still doing the same things.

Thanks for the suggestions. Keep'em comin

get a set of brp7es plugs and gap them @ .024. I feel a tune is needed, intakes can cause idle issues. With a tune your can add timing to the idle map. Not to mention your are running rich most likely on the stock tune.
