My bigger concerns are having to replace a HG, rebuilding bottom end, bad trans, xfer case, or rear diff. Things like that. From what I hear, if I don't drive it like a maniac and don't mod it any more than it is, they should hold up just fine. I was more looking to hear from other evo owners with high mileage how these major parts have held up.

listen to the pro!!!
any car cheap or expensive you dont maintain it will crap at 100kmiles.
any car cheap or expensive you maintain it it will NOT crap at 300k miles.
maintaining a corolla vs maintaining an evo is less, but only about 50% less. so why bother depressing yourself on a corolla?
besides, you choosing a f150 over an evo? f150 has worse mpg. you're actually losing money by selling the evo.
sell the f150. buy a civic for $5000. daily the civic. keep only liability insurance on it for $40/month.
you're good to go. having an f150 as your only car is a MISTAKE.
keep the evo. buy a cheap civic dd. or yeah. a saturn.

Keep the Evo. Seens you put lots of money into, keep it and don't drive hard on it. My 03 Evo 8 130,000 miles on it and still going strong. There are members that hit 300,000 miles and still driving
Or buy a Honda like the other member suggested.

I wouldn't pi5s on a 5.4 triton to put out a fire
Those plugs break, and the kit to extract the broken plugs are costly... That's not covered..
If I were concerned, I'd step back and realize that I can always buy an Evo down the road.
Sell both, buy something econo sized and reliable, without having a car payment.
Enjoy one less worry until you get back on your feet.
Then buy yourself a toy

sounds like u can handle the repairs, even in ur situation, id keep up on the maintenance and drive it like a civil person until ur out of ur funk. every car can be kept up to last forever or the exact opposite. i would keep the evo for sure, u dont want to regret getting rid of something u really enjoy

Thanks guys. Sounds like anything can happen in reality, but that would be with any car. Gonna keep the evo, keep up maintenance, no mods and save up for a second DD so I can mod this guy in a year or so.

But I still see way more older Toyotas and Nissan trucks with more mileage on the road than domestic vehicles. I never see old domestic trucks still running. They're usually rotting away in someones driveway.

keep the the evo. Buy a commuter if you can afford it. I drive a 1983 toyota 2wd pickup. Not because I couldn't go out and get a mega cab cummins, but becuase the yota has 314k miles and just passed smog. second clutch, stock everything. Never been worked on besides alt and starter and fuel pump. I changed my fuel pump for 12.00 and about 12 min of my 15 min break at work.

I did not take the time to read everything you posted in your initial questions, but I realized I knew enough when you mentioned a F150 and a Mitsu in same sentance I degress....but before I do, let me point out that I own a evo, civic and F150 (among other toys, but for this post, those are all that apply), so I can relate.
Another post said it right, almost. Get a Honda, daily drive it, period...but insure it for more than comprehensive coverage please, a new face is hard to come by without insurance sponsorship...never assume that the other guy will cover your costs!
So, sell F150, maintain evo, buy civic (keep it stock...please) and enjoy life!

Cheers to that! The last few days I feel like this is the best idea. I have a few leads on selling the truck, so I will follow through with them and see what I can do.

[QUOTE=turbotaloon95;10540575]That sounds awesome. I have thought about picking up a mighty max or similar small pickup with the hopes to do a RWD 4g63 swap down the road when I get a garage back.
Actually in my garage right now is a 1984 toyota diesel 4wd that im putting in a cummins 4bt, dana 60s, links, flatbed, ect... King of the hammers capable 30mpg daily driver. Not to get off subject.
