RPM stays high at idle.

Hi Everyone,

After I got my fuel pump, injectors and fuel rail installed on my 115k Evo8 at the local shop, they tuned the car and it was running fine. The tuning was fine except I noticed that when the car comes to a stop and at idle, the rpm stays at 1500 rpm and very slowly, comes down to below 900 rpm where it bogs and bumpy idle.

When the car went in before the install and tune, things were running fine.
The shop mentioned that it might be the Idle/Air Control Valve that might have gone bad because the car is 115k miles? As that might be one of the reasons for the rough idle?
The question I have is will this happen because of more fuel/air being tuned into the engine with the new tune, and the mileage on the IAC part shows up the problem? Or its something else as the car was idling fine before all the install.

Thanks for the help.

Clean your IACV and see if it makes a difference.

Sounds more like the tune caused the idle problem. Maybe you should take it somewhere else.

It's the tune as of this writing. They put in the new IACV and it was not getting better with the idle issue. Will see how they dial it out?
