MR Gauge wiring compatible to others?

Hey Guys,

I was wondering if any knows if it is possible to reuse the MR gauge wiring for any aftermarket gauges? I want to probably use defi gauges but I also want to reuse the stock wiring. Does anyone know if this is possible?

Thanks,

I would assume with some wiring magic it could be done. I have used the power wires of my gauge pack as relay trigger wires. Depends on the gauge i would assume. I know the connectors wont work but if you have a pigtail for the new gauge you could solder them together. The oil temp signal wont work for an aftermarket gauge due to calibration. the light power wires should work for hi/lo of an after market gauge. And volts should since its pretty straight forward. Boost signal is supplied by vacuum hose so there shouldnt be an issue there.

Thank you! I heard that the vacuum hose doesn't work for the Defi Boost gauge. Anyone who has a Defi boost gauge verify this?

I reused some of the stock wiring for my AEM Boost and Wideband gauge.

I re-used the wiring for my Stack gauges. I have mechanical boost gauge so i re-used the vacuum hose. You can't re-use the MR oil temp sensor but and oil temp gauge should come with it's own sender and then you can just use the OEM wiring. Atleast that's what i did.

Which mechanical boost gauge do you have? I'm undecided on which I should get.

Another issue is, I'm getting a free EGT gauge that I want to use also, but I don't want extra pods. So I'm thinking defi boost gauge, defi oil temp, and the EGT gauge. So if I can reuse the wiring for the boost gauge and the oil temp, I'll be pretty happy with that because wiring and I do NOT mix.

I have this one for my boost gauge:

And this one for my oil temp:

And as soon as i get enough money I'll have the Stack wideband too. My friend has the stepper motor boost gauge and It's awesome, but it's twice the price of the mechanical boost gauge.

P.S. I just used summitracing because it was the first thing that popped up on google, if you search around you can find them cheaper. I got my boost gauge for 60 bucks and the oil temp for like 75. You just have to look around to find the best deal. I've had pro-sport gauges before and they were good for about 6 months. Then my boost gauge stopped going to 0 when i turned the car off. And all my friends' pro-sport gauges don't work anymore. lol. So you get what you pay for. I absolutely love my Stack gauges and they work just the same as when i first got them 4 months ago. Aem gauges are great too.

Sorry to bring an older thread back to life, but if I get a digital aem boost gauge, can I use the stock vacuum hose for my mr boost gauge for the aem?

Yes you can but there will be a pill/restrictor in the Vacuum T where the hose connects to the intake manifold.Replace the vacuum T and your AEM gauge should have a accurate vac source.

Sweet, thanks for the help man. Im thinking about putting my wide band and bopst gauge in the stock MR cluster, any other gauge I should get before I get it tuned?

That's bs. a vacuum line is a vacuum line. I have a defi boost gauge, and both gauges are tapped to the same line.
