I'm guessing clutch. YOu'll notice as soon the evo moves(slipping the clutch to move ); the noise rear its head and immediately & faded when he moved 3mph+. What aftermarket clutch do you have?, has your clutch pedal bern re-adjusted? I would take it to a evo shop and have it inspected. And at least try to replicate the noise.

Do you feel any vibration? grinding? Mine did similar thing yesterday. Sort of slight grinding when release clutch. Perhaps cold weather?

its more noise than anything, but you do feel it slightly throughout all the metals of the car at that frequency

Absolutely clutch. Twin, 6pucks make those noise including mine. Like above guy mentioned only occasionally. Take off from 1st gear , reverse to 1st or at high-speed if you don't revmatch

I'm interestedd...are there any solutions for this? would resurfacing flywheel help reduce noise? how bout' changing the flywheel to say a brand new OEM unit? or lightning it with a prolite or streetlite flywheel?

Interesting. This isn't bad for your car though right?

This isn't bad for your car, nor good. It's just the way it is. To avoid this noise, don't slip your clutch and take off your foot as quick as possible....or rev to 3K when you take off from 1st gear. Resurfacing your flywheel won't change. This is just infamous problem for twin, 6puck.. Changing your whole clutch might take care of this noise though.
