HID fogs not working

Hey everyone, I've seen some similar threads but had a more specific question. Since I bought my IX MR it has had some no-name 55w HID's hooked up to the fogs... recently they started doing this thing where sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. cant find any pattern to it. and Sometimes when I just push the button a whole bunch of times they start.... ugh.
I thought it was weather related when about a month ago it was -50F for a week, but then even in the garage when they're warm they aren't always working.
Anyone had this intermittent Issue?
Also if anyone wants to just chime in with general notes about things that will cause them to disfunction in general or pleasant/unpleasant facts... I want to know more about them

Thanks

i think since you have another set of aftermarket balasts for your fogs it might be something wrong with connections.

Get rid of the and put halogen bulbs back in.

HID's aren't meant for fog lights, and HID definitely don't belong in reflector bowl housings.

why don't they belong in the reflector bowl? Because fogs shouldn't be HID's?

No, because reflector bowls scatter light and HID's are far brighter than halogens. You know the douchebags driving civics with HID's who blind everyone who's driving towards them? That's because they put HID's in their stock housings (reflector bowls).

aww yeah... sucks too because they do look neat running. but you're right. I hate that :/ also would be a good way to diagnose what it was brining it back to the stocks.

You can always buy foglights that are 2500k / 3000k / 3800k if you're trying to get yellow fogs, and they will output better light and not "i want to kill you" from other drivers
