Mine is black as well, running for 7 years 41k miles and still seems good

I have a 2006 MR, I replaced the battery only a couple of months ago.

I have an 03 and when I took the battery out it shows a date of 2003 on mine and it still ran fine , started fine to. Anyone want it?
