Compression Test Question

About to do a compression test following the DIY. On this step:

7. Crank the engine with the throttle valve fully open and
measure the compression pressure.
Standard value (at engine speed of 250 r/min): 1,128
kPa (163 psi)
Minimum limit (at engine speed of 250 r/min): 951 kPa
(138 psi)

Do just keep foot down on the gas while cranking it?

Just crank it until the needle stops, and dont forget to take the fuel pump relay out and all the spark plugs out.

Ive been told to unplug the crank position sensor plug. That should prevent ign and fuel.

I know every time Ive done a compression test Ive unplugged fuel pump relay and pulled all spark plugs. The big thing is to make sure you crank each cyl the same amount of times to get accurate readings

Great job to the 3 above me for not even answering the OP's question

Yes, just hold the throttle down.

Also, the service manual says to unplug the crank position sensor. nothing in there about the fuel pump relay.

Or you can pull the ecu 20amp fuse also it's in the fuse box under the hood and what you are looking for is all 4 cyl to be near same it doesn't have to be the exact same numbers on all 4.
