Climate controls new look!?

Is there a way to upgrade the ugly climate controls?

Something like this maybe?

that system is the climate control from the JDM and UK evo's. i know of a few people that try to make that system work in our cars but i don't think they succeeded and the process is very long and complicated so it might not be worth it.

From previous posts, the USDM EVO has mechanical HVAC controls so it won't be possible to install JDM electronic HVAC controls. For an alternate look, someone made white HVAC overlay/faces for a Lancer.

You can say that again. Moving cable and wires like the good old days such like the hand crank starters Hey, then again I wouldn't expect anything less on a $30k car

the A/C controls on the USDM car certainly are ****ty. no doubt about that. at the same time you have to bear in mind that the USDM car is a LOT cheaper than say the UK model.

I've been discussing this very point with my Evo-VI driving buddy in the UK. In the UK an Evo VIII would set you back about $51k at current exchange rates neither of us can quite believe it.

so, I don't know about you, but I'm not sure I'd pay an extra $22k to have a nicer looking climate control

and to make matters worse you have to remember it's more than $6/gallon for gas...

Functional? Hardly. Turn the blasted knob. You can feel cable driving the doors open so, that's why it's like 4 click from hot to cold.

We'll I'm all for $ saving but since our's is "suppose" to be based on the GSR why not give us GSR controls rather than cheapo RS version?

RS is "no compromise track"
GSR is "Race car with goodies for everyday driving"

Don't get me wrong I'm all for the car, ordering it a in advance. It's just a matter principal here since it's almost 30 grand for no ACD/AYC and open Front diff (no LSD)!. Is that bad enought? No lets strip the A/C controls, put crap 15watt stereo and no 6 speed option.

I just need the ice to melt here so i can forget the details and remember how much i love driving this car!

Someone in another post said that the controls are light years below a Honda Civic... I have an Integra, and have to agree...

Keep it on heat in the winter and keep the windows down in the summer. Problem fixed.
