This is from memory but the first 8's had hid and fog lights. Then succeeding years saw the GSR get regular headlights. So, I take it, some previous owner has installed hid headlights but never connected the fogs.

As I understand it, push the fog light button in my car and a signal is sent to the steering column computer. The steering column computer then sends a signal to the under hood computer which then grounds the coil in the relay for the fogs. My guess, but search around I may be wrong, is that trying to get this to work in a car that didn't come equipped with fogs is futile.

So, not having done this or having done any research, I suggest buying the switch for the dash, running a wire out to a relay under the hood, the relay, properly fused for the load, connected to the battery. That would give you operating fog lights but lights that wouldn't shut off automatically - a nice feature.

Alternately, you could search for a part-out with all the needed pieces.

i have an 03 evo VIII, it has HID headlights and has a fog light hid bulb also. All the wiring from the bulb seems factory and i found the fg light switch in the trunk.... can i just connect the fog light harness to the switch and it should work? I read the harness is just unplugged under the dash
