1. if you know the glass hop real good then you'd know what kind of urethane they use (Sika, Essex, etc) when they put the parts in and what type of moldings they use when the old ones cannot be saved
2. your windshield is a part of the structural integrity of your vehicle.. going with an aftermarket part such as a Safelite windshield (which is about as aftermarket as you can get) is not approved by any car manufacturer and can be dangerous if you get in an accident where the car rolls over..
3. dealers do NOT install windshields!!! they sub it out

im on my 3 window now in my evo damn rocks lost two of them with int a month. IT will cost about $250 for a OEM (PPG) window and install. Or u cna get teh cheap **** that is not as safe for like 150

Has it been determined his windshield must be replaced? If it's smaller than a quarter and can just be repaired, I think most insurance companies will actually WAVE the deductable and pay 100% to repair! Check it out.

damm... i hate to dig this thread up again... but damm this has just happened to ME!! every cold *** night the crack in my windshield gets longer n longer... iits almost at the middle part of my windshield, starting from the upper left of the drivers side. anyone know a place in NJ or NY to get his replaced??

Huscroft6 where is that windshield place located? how far from Philadelphia or Allentown?? at 1st the crac was the size of a bb gun pellet... then it grew a line 4 inches long.... ok no biggy.. i put my Ez'Pass over it.... 3-4 days later.... its at least 8 in. now! wf!!! very distracting while driving

OK for the record... I've found a place that sells factory windshields nationwide for a fraction of the dealer price . I got a quote from them i can get mines for 265$ INSTALLED!
