Exclamation Melted manifold to turbo gasket??

Has anyone seen this??? I just put in a new grimmspeed manifold to turbo gasket and went for a spin....when I came back this is what I saw. It looks like solder or something melting its way out of my gasket. Im scared to death to take it back apart to see if there is anything in my turbo. Has anyone seen this before or know what would cause this?

If it was one of the perforated gaskets then its common, I refuse to use them. Can't beat OEM when it comes to the OEM turbo.

Sorry, I just noticed you said that in your original post. Reading ftw. Maybe go with an oem gasket. They seal well and don't melt.

make sure you glance at the turbine when you swap it out. if that **** went out, it might have gone "in" too.

Dude, unless I'm seeing something everyone else isn't.... It just looks like the coating or w/e the gasket was coated in, is flaking off. Have you bothered to brush it off with your fingers? That's all I think it is, it defiantly isn't melted or soldered... post a better pic that close up.

Or just spend 10 minutes and yank the manifold and look at it.

Yea it's definitely some kind of coating but it looks like it's squirting from between the layers on the gasket. I've chipped some of it off and it looks like pieces of melted aluminum or some other kind of metal. I posted this on the EVO X forums and those guys all said it was pretty common with those gaskets. I am still going to call grimmspeed on monday tho to be sure
