how safe is driving without acd pump evo 9

Hello guys,

I have a question: I have removed acd pump, how safe is driving without it? Can it damage something? transfercase or something else?

No pump=no fluid. Damage will ensue.

You have to modify the TC if your going to remove the pump, you can't just remove the pump.

+1. What everbody just said ...your clutch pack within the transfercase will fry less than a mile of driving.

Isn't the pump just supplying the hydraulic pressure to the clutch pack? Without that hydraulic pressure, there is no lock up and you would be driving with an open differential.

As for the fluids for the ACD pump, Wouldn't the gear oil in the TCase be what is supplying the fluids for the clutch pack (if the clutch pack is even submerged in the TCase fluids)?

If this is the case, it would just be like driving around with an open differential.

My acd throws the three lights when it's the hottest of summer days, but I've been driving with it like that for 2 years with no problems.

I've been driving about five years with all three lights on. The transfer case does wine a lot when it gets hot though.

The acd pump only puts pressure on a Actuator with a seal on the clutch packs, the Tcase oil keeps em lubed. I say if the Tcase is whining ditch the ACD all together. If you really wanna keep it stock then replace the pump, BUT look at your rebuild options on that, if its the motor you could send that out to be fixed at a motor shop. Or in most cases its just the Pump housing plate Rusted and corroded. Its Very easy to rebuild, and pretty easy to take off and put on, just watch the line that threaded end can get knarled up quite easily.

LoL i still say ditch the acd thou,
