Decisions decisions

Theres A few things I want but can only get one due to finances. I want a new oem bumper for my 8. A jdm rear. And I want some springs and retainers to go with my new kelfords.

So my question is, have any of you been in this same situation where you're torn over what you want, but can only have one at the moment?

I usually just write down the pros and cons and try to determine which route gives the most benefits.

I guess I was going more towards what were the things you wanted and what did you end up choosing.

I would do the springs ad retainers first. That way you don't have to touch the head again. Bumper you can do whenever

Take shipping into consideration. Bumpers are not cheap to ship, so I would do the springs and retainers, along with a new valve cover gasket. Are your bumpers really jacked up??

Another thing to think about is the crash bar for the jdm bumper and if your exhaust is compatible.

Id say go with head work. If you have the cams sitting collecting dust, might as well finish that project. May need a tune afterwards?

Definitely springs and retainers. Cosmetic upgrades can be done at any given time and if you're on a budget I'd say cosmetic things aren't a priority.

springs / retainers are what, $250 + installl, jdm rear is about $1000 out the door.. whats more important, pushing the car power wise when you don't have money to pick up the pieces if something blows, or cosmetics?

I really appreciate all the replies, but this was mostly me asking if any of you have been in a similar position where you have a few things on your list of things you want, but could only get one. And why.

And from what I have seen, jdm bumpers are like 600 out the door. Those are the normal white ones. . Also, I have money set aside incase of emergencies. I'm talking about extra play money.

Where are you getting the $600 price from? does it say oem STYLE or is it a mitsubishi part?

Also, keep in mind that the usdm crash bar doesn't fit the jdm bumper so you need to remove, modify it, or pick up one of the custom aftermarket options.

I realize all of this. Just like I realized when I got my cams that I should get springs and retainers. And here's a link. http://www.lancershop.com/customer/p...cat=111&page=1.

Id still go with getting the valvetrain done. You will still have extra spending money in case something else comes up.

Well, that's a sale price which is different from if you happen to need any other color. Keep in mind the cost of crash bar solution etc.

I also think you're better off with the valvetrain, however whether or not you need that done depends on what cams you have and how high you plan on revving the engine.

I got the JDM 9 & crash beam as one of my first mods. In all honesty, I should have spent the $1100 or so on power. I mean, who cares what your *** end looks like, so long as that's all they see.
