I seem this asked before but the other way around so just wondering if it will work. an Evo 8 tranny on my ix/9, I heard something about a sensor or the hole harness not working so If you can tell me what exactly I have to change or mod it will be lots of help.. My tranny now is taking a **** and I have a seller lined up with a Evo 8 tranny with under 60k miles on it. So any help or advise would be greatful.

 

It should, I got a 9 tranny for my 8 an no issues or anything special I had to do at all, it was MR trannys so I dunno if makes any diff

 

Ok cool, so you didn't have to change the harness or shifter cables or anything at all just a complete swap

 

It will fit. Harness and everything. As long as its a 5 speed. The 6 speeds have different cables,harnesses, sensors and such
