Fun in my MAP 2.4 EVO IX RS & GT-R, R8, 458, Turbo S, TTRS, Evora
I hosted a Doctors Track Day where I invited a lot of surgeons to bring their cars to the track. Had 5 instructors plus myself, pit crew, detail crew, and track crew to help with the event at Hallett Motor Racing Circuit in Hallett Oklahoma. What a great day and my first Test & Tune with my new MAP IX RS!
First, my E-85 532whp(Mustang Dyno) 2.4 MAP EVO is a ROCKET! With 500tq, I was able to claw my way around corners and sling shot off apexes like never before. Will have to wait for GoPro to see. I got to drive my friends E-85 GT-R back to back after driving my EVO. This was a lot of fun and allowed me to better compare the difference between the two cars on track. I was signed up to drive the R8, but I was having so much fun teaching the race line in my EVO and GT-R, I missed the chance to drive the R8 V10 on track. Drove it on the highway though, and it is one sweet car! Very fine tuned machine.
Here are some pics. Stay tuned for GoPro in-car/out-car of me racing wheel to whee with Porsche Cup cars...and passing them both! Coming soon after edit.
**edit** added you tube link: Start at 1:50 for EVO. From inside Porsche Cup Car, EVO w/passenger lets Porsche Cup Cars past, then EVO passes back and pulls! On RS3 street tires and 4 doors Ha!!!!!!! Porsche cars are full race club cars with cages and stickies and veteran drivers etc.

GT-R write up:
SBD GT-R on E-85 (race mode all nannies off)
700hp package
Air intakes, exhaust, tune
MAP EVO IX RS 2.4LR (no nannies)
532awhp & 500tq on E-85 & 28psi boost (Mustang Dyno)
MAP EF3 turbo, stage V head, everything MAP offers, porting, suspension, brakes, etc
In summary, the GT-R is effortless at track speed verse my Monster 2.4 EVO that I physically drive around the track. What this means is, the GT-R is explosive, but you can short shift to smooth things out and still be running with anything on the track. Its paddle shift is what F1 dreams are made of. Its that good. The rev match is bad *** with a great exhaust!! It's so quick, you can get behind in your reaction time & lose it similar to driving a Z06. It's heavy and wide, but it pulls and turns unlike anything. Certainly unlike anything weighing 4000+ pounds. My EVO feels smaller like threading a needle. Similar to hitting a soft ball, then playing with a baseball. You can hit the softball a few times, but you can crush the baseball and it goes further. The GT-R is the softball. It does everything and its easier. . The EVO, or baseball, is faster and more nimble. Mind you, I am comparing a fully built EVO IX RS with everything; motor, suspension, brakes. I could more accurately drive and shave off a few tenths around corners in the EVO. The wide GT-R, which was 700hp on E-85 was wider and took up more apex space before tracking out on full throttle. Stock brakes and tires can only take a few laps at race speed before the weight catches up to it, although the OEM brakes are AMAZING. An EVO making 500+ HP will beat a stock GT-R. But that's just it, an EVO making 500hp is trying to make 500hp. The GT-R doesn't break a sweat. I also drove the exact same tune on a GT-R with racing pads, fluid, and sticky tires.....and that was an eye opener. I had to get my brain wired for race car reflexes! I ran my EVO 2 seconds faster than I drove that prepped GT-R. This is interesting since that GT-R felt stronger down the straights and the brakes were amazing. How did my EVO turn faster times? It's size and less weight. I firmly believe the EVO is the poor mans GT-R. The GT-R track experience is a bucket list for those who have not done it. I would have one if I could afford it. The fun factor of the GT-R sets the bar for any car. It's absolutely one of my favorite cars ever and I was against the majority on GT-R's until I drove one. Everything about them is true! But if like me, you can't afford $100k GT-R, but $30k EVO is in your budget, you can be just as fast! Until then, I will be aiming high to run with GT-R's at the track. So far, EVO is ahead.
