Dual voltage step down fuel pump

Dual voltage step down fuel pump
I have the ams surge tank but the fuel pump (walboro?) is way too loud. I was hoping to have some kind of a voltage regulator 20amp? 14.4V down to 9V. Any idea what to use? Resistor draws too much heat was thinking an adjustable voltage regulator along those specs? Anyone else done the same?

Thats not going to quiet it that much. Plus if you lower the voltage you will not be getting the fuel your car needs. If the pump was designed to run at 12v you HAVE to run it at 12v your asking for problems if you don't. Unfortunately you only option is a different pump or some sound deadening plan.
