oil pressure wiring
i did search to start off
i have prosport gauges oil temp and oil pressure
i have the gauges grounded, and the sensors grounded to chassis.
my oil pressure is acting like an rpm gauge though.
can anyone pointme in the right direction, beside saying get different gauges.

Where did you wire the gauges to i think he was asking?

oil pressure goes up with rpm... that is, until you get to the point where the oil is not returning to the sump as fast as it is being pushed into the engine. Oil temperature also has an affect on this.
Normal cars have what car people refer to as "idiot switches" where it will show a constant pressure unless it drops below something ridiculously low (3-4psi).

i used my factory MR gauges for power and ground for the gauges.(red, orange are one in the same on gauges so they always are amber lit) no white connected. then i ran the green wire to the sensor of each wire. and then grounded the sensors to a bolt near the engine bay.

maybe im not understanding how this gauge is SUPPOSE to read then? shouldnt it have a constant oil pressure? i know the oil pump goes up with RPM as well, but doesnt make sense lol

Where would anyone have even learned how an oil pressure gauge is supposed to work/read in day to day motoring? Cars don't use them (really), so it isn't like it's common knowledge.
People come here for help and ask all sorts of stupid questions. We're all car people, and we're a dying breed (like it or not), so why be a dick to someone that's learning?
