Muffler selection
First post here! I picked up an Evo IX last week, mostly stock, and I'm going to gradually add pieces to it (having just bought a house, funds are a bit hard to come by at the moment).
That being said, I sold a set of wheels last night, and in partial trade I got this Greddy Evo exhaust. The piping looks to be in great shape, but the muffler is mangled, so that obviously can't be used. Seeing as how Greddy doesn't sell replacement Evo mufflers, I'll be needing a new one.
Does anybody have any recommendations? Is Magnaflow the consensus? I see a lot of people on here run them. I'm a little hesitant to go the N1-style route because I'd rather not pay a bunch for the piping to be modified to accomodate an angled output. I also have a JDM rear bumper, so keeping things simple would be nice.

A lot of that will buff right out tho... Haha!
Anyway, I'd maybe suggest taking a look at the Buschur systems.
I'm not too certain there are very many people running the magnaflows, but I've heard good things on other cars.
There's a HUGE aftermarket for the things though, you should have no trouble finding something that will work.
Worst case... get a muffler, and have your local muffler shop tack the pipes on.

Thanks for the welcome!
And yeah, I think the plan is to find a muffler I like and reuse the piping. I effectively got it for $50 (although my out of pocket was $0), so with a nice muffler, I imagine it end up being very cost effective.

Hmm this is a good point. I'll have to figure out what this one measures. I imagine that if I go bigger, it has to be welded on anyway, so hopefully the exhaust shop can just flare the piping a bit on whatever they use to connect the muffler to the rest of it.
