I got bored and found this.

Here are two evos both being sold by dealers

evo ix
http://newyork.craigslist.org/stn/ctd/3819023468.html

evo x
http://newyork.craigslist.org/brk/ctd/3814665915.html

the x has lower miles and is 2k cheaper?? Just thought it was kind of funny.

I would imagine it is because the IX is more rare and demand is high for them so dealers can sell them at a premium price.

yup look at 2007 STi's (most popular model) compared to 2012 STi's. Same mileage 70k miles and the 2007 is KBB'ed at $29k and 2013 for like $27k

I myself always valued ix's higher in my mind but I never realized places like kbb and dealerships also did. That pretty cool though.

I could be wrong but that IX seems a tad overpriced

The XI's are going to be more valuable than the X's, in the long run. Just sayin'.. Exclusivity breeds inflation.

Also you could expect to pay ~5k$ less on both vehicles, when purchasing through a private party. Dealers need to make their money and pay the bills too.
