Strange noise coming from head/valve cover?
Hey guys, wondering if anyone has had an expeirience with this kind of noise i have. It's like a clinky rattling noise that seems to be coming from the valve cover. I have no exhaust leaks no holes or cracks in the manifold anywhere and have checked hose, bolt etc to ensure something isn't just rattling. I'm thinking maybe a valve or lash adjuster/lifter? It doesn't start occuring untill the car is revved to about 3k or so then it will come and go. While driving it's usually always there.
The car goes in to get tuned on July 2nd but I just figured I'd try to figure it out myself before hand to save some money if it is something I could possibly fix myself.
Any thoughts/input would be appreciated! Thanks!!!

sorry, what I meant was is that once the car hits past 3k once or twice in normal driving or u rev it a few times it starts happening, then that sound appears all throughout the rpm range, even at idle, as heard in the video. It sounds like metal vibrating/rattling to me...

What seems to be the officer problem??
tried getting a tube , a solid one , and put one side of the tube on your ear and the other side of the tube to where you think the sound might be coming from..
if what i heard is true , this technique will let you hear where exactly the sound is coming from...

I guess I never really thought of a cracked valve cover contributing to that noise I'll have to take a close look at it and see what i find. The only thing is, is that it doesnt neccessarily make that rattling noise all the time, it's just after the car has been driven or given a few revs. Did yours do the same? Or was it a constant noise?

This is the similar noise im getting from my engine when I rev around the 2-3k range and backing off from the throttle.

lifter change got rid of the tick, its hard to explain. Everywhere I look people never answered how they fixed the issue. Everywhere. No on ever follows up. I'm pulling the belt off and checking the pulleys soon. Ill try and answer if I find the issue. The sound though is a loud, really loud rattling noise. Sounds like possible bearings going out on a pulley somewhere. I have a new AC pulley and armature to change. Fingers crossed its a pulley going out. Does not affect the performance of the car and sounds goes away after 3k rpm while driving or idle.

Its not a pulley, since turning the car on without the drive belt on the systems still causes the noise. No pulleys were turning. No bearings are being turned. Still have the metallic rattling. Since I'm down here ill change the AC pulley to fix my AC problem. Alternator going bad? Once a few months back my car was idling weird and I ended up shutting it off and wouldn't start back up. Dead battery. Jumped the car and been driving it since with no issue. Was some sort of weird anomaly. The hunt continues...
