gsc s1 and s2 cams?

gsc s1 and s2 cams?

how do you tell the difference between GS 1 cams and gsc s2 ccamsby just looking at the cams. I think I got s2 instead of s1? On the cans it said s2 somewhere on it small letters

I remember my s2's had GSC stamped on them but I can't remember if S2 was or not. Rig up a dial indicator over the cam get a friend to turn the crank by hand and measure the lift then match it up with GSC's specs.

(should give you an idea)

Yours had a gsc stamp on it where at?

My s1's have "s1" etched on the cam gear end of them with a dremel.

Ok I just took a closer look at mine and at one of the sides saids. S2-EX and the other one saids S2-IN. Does this mean its a s2?

The guy I bought it from said they are s1. But why does it say that?

You should be fine as long as you keep stock rev limit and stock boost according to gsc... Personally id upgrade while your in there

Im gonna be on stock turbo and on e85 runing around 30 psi? Is that safe with s2 and stock springs and retainers?

S2 requires new valve train.. The s2-in and s2-ex stand for intake and exhaust. Make sure you check the lash or ur car won't make power properly.. Trust me I went through this with a shop and paid for the install and then went back cause they didn't do a lash test. They claimed they did and still the same result. Call gsc and ask for Greg. I have an evo x so the specs may be different and u midnight jot have to change the buckets. Again call gsc and verify. Good luck hope it works out for u

I read that s2 can go with stock head but you cant go past 8000 rpm is that true?

I wouldn't go past 7k with those on factory springs and most Evos have no need revving much past that. If you want S1s, I bet someone would swap you straight up or you can sell those for $400+ pretty quick.
