Popping/Misfire At idle after rebuild

Just got my 2.3L together and did my first start up and I am having a Misfire/Popping at idle and during random RPMS.

We pulled the plugs are found #1 was soaked in fuel and looked clean
#2 had carbon on it and was dry from fuel
#3 had a slight amount of carbon on it and was wet with fuel
#4 was same as #2.

We swapped the plugs to see if the problem followed the plugs but it didn't. I checked the CAS and its positioned correctly, timing marks are lined up perfectly.

Here is a video of it.

Going to swap out injectors tomorrow with some other ones to see if its possible injectors are stuck open or something of that nature.

In the mean time anyone else got any idea's??

Timing is dead on as was stated earlier,

the only thing that is different between now and the last tune is its 2.3L now, it should atleast idle. No reason for it not to spark for that reason.

Checking to be sure spark is present on the 2 cylinders should be done. Pull the plugs, and crank to see. Disconnect fueling somehow.

If there is no spark, does anyone know what could tie #1, and #3 together to prevent spark?

I find it odd that the firing issue is on the wire side of both coils. Checked resistance on wires, and get 5.6k/long, and 2.3k/short.

If spark is present, will try swapping inj on #1, and #2 to see if it follows the inj. Does anyone know how to test that the injector is not stuck open, or if that is possible?

Do you have stock coil packs?if so, 2-4 are off 1 coil and 1-3 are on another. Change plugs completely as well.

The video is blurry as crap, but do you have the cylinder paired right? It damn near looks like you have the #2 coil with the long plug wire wrapping around it and going to #1. It's hard to see from the blur so maybe I'm way off, but it sure looks that way and would explain your 1/3 problems.

You sir are a genius and I am an idiot... should have taken the 5 minutes to google the coils... as I would've had it started awhile ago...

Thank you.. she started right up, no back-fires/pops or anything of the nature... now time to get some logs and miles done.

And sorry for video quality my crap-tastic phone will only share video's in crap-tastic resolution.

Don't sweat it. I have cars towed in to my shop like that all the time, shiat happens man.

If that video was one pixel crappier I wouldn't have been able to see it

Nice! Thanks for the help guys. It always seems to be the small things over looked that get us.

James, possibly Tuesday after work.
