Evo Tow Package.
Anyone found or built a hitch / tow setup for an evo? looks like most guys just fab something up.
Looking into towing my motorcycle around a bit and was wondering if anyone had made structurally sound setup or knows where to look...

There is a guy on here that has made a few. Good guy to deal with and has great welding skills. I can't think of his name off hand tho. A quick search in the for sale thread will find him tho.

I have a JDM bumber, and I had to seriously modify a standard lancer hitch to work on mine. (cutting, welding, adding structure to the car... definitely not a bolt on kind of thing). There is a thread on here from someone that stated he uses a standard UHAUL lancer hitch, however I have PMed with him privately, and he told me that he had to add a structural member just like me.

The Man's screen name is 91tsiguy It works well with a US bumper on the Evo.

I am a medical traveler. I bounce around the country working for hospitals for 3-24 month contracts. When i am moving from one place to another, i load up my bed, desk, dresser, TV and other misc items onto the trailer and bring it to the new location.
The trailer is a folding model i built then customized from a harbor freight kit. Empty it weighs under 200 lbs. fully loaded with the sides and all my stuff is just over 900 lbs. tongue weight fully loaded is around 85 lbs.
When i arrive at my new location, i drop off and unpack all of my stuff. Load the empty boxes into the trailer then put the trailer and boxes into storage. They take up less than 1/3 of a 5x10 storage unit.
Now as for towing. The evo tows beautifully. 1st and 2nd are geared so low that you dont need to feather the clutch at all when accelerating. The torque band is so wide that you are not hunting through the gears. Hell i would say it tows far better than my old ford ranger.

Alot of road race guys use this to tow extra fuel/tires. It sucks to drive 2 hours on race tires in the rain is all I can say. I now have a truck/trailer, but first time out I had only the evo and enough room for either fuel or tires. Guess which I chose.
