aem meth injection
ive been reading a lot about it and im still questioning the safety of the kit. my mechanic has had many dsms and evos and he says its fine. but im still a newbie and of course im "nervous" i guess lol. my setup is:
2004 evo 8 ssl
custom tbe
walbro 255
1000cc injectors
jmfab exhaust mani
kelford 272 cams
buschur 4" fmi
2.5" intercooler piping
fp black bb
jmfab o2 dump
speed density
stock ecu

please be advised that not all E85 are made equal. that would be my only concern if you were going to the performance route w/ E85. i would recommend fueling at the same pump to avoid this problem, or help avoid this problem. because E85 that is off will definitely cause knock, and knock is not a good thing =/

I now run a Aquamist hfs-3 since my smc kit took a dump, I ran the smc kit for over 6 years with no issues until it now. I running a good failsafe with a 3 port solenoid so that if the pump stops flowing my boost will not go over 12 #'s. Whats cool is if you shut off the Aquamist unit you can actually see the failsafe work as in my car will not boost over 12 #'s. I know a lot of people have negative things to say about meth ,but as long as you have a good working failsafe you should be fine. I think e85 is great but as we know not available to everybody's area. I also run 100% denatured alcohol as it rather easy to get at Home Depot and not as corrosive as 100% meth from what I heard/ read.

My setup consists of a dual map. One on 91+meth and another straight 91. It's an aem kit with the aem failsafe. When trouble arises while on meth, it switches to alternate map (ecu drops boost with 3 port bcs). Like someone else mentioned, when I switch on injection system, ecu is running that (91+meth) map. If I choose to switch it off, it runs alternate (straight 91)map.
