10.5 E8 Turbo limits
I want to know what are the max hp limit or realistic limit these days on these turbo. Since everyone pretty much jumps directly to E9 turbo or FP set up these days.
I have an Evo 9 Turbo sitting on my living room and my car came with a 10.5 inch hot side turbo. I am debating if its even worth slapping on the E9 Turbo.
Or am I just better off with an ETS FMIC and keeping my stock turbo.

max output is same between the turbos. especially when running e85. there are small gains when running pump gas and switching from 9.8 evo 8 to 10.5 ev9. maybe 15hp. 8 turbo does spool faster so there is some trade off. half the gains on pump are from switching to 10.5. so your only gain would be from freer flowing compressor cover.

I cant get a hold of E85 but will be eventually doing a map on C16.
I dont know if I sell my E9 turbo for 400 bucks and try to slap a 3.5 ETS FMIC on my Evo.
Or slap on the E9 Turbo and use my OEM FMIC.

Depending on your racing discipline(s), I'd sell the IX turbo. Use that money towards something else, a tune
Why do you want a new FMIC? I'm not being flip, but curious as to what you're doing with the car. FMIC are nice, especially if pushing the car to the limits.
However, take a ride in a car with a bigger turbo and see if that's what you like. Some people prefer the stock turbos. If you like the smaller turbo, then keep the IX as your current one will go out eventually.
As to your original question, I'd say around mid/high 300's to low 400's hp on a dynojet depending on supporting mods.
GL!

I also plan on running c16 and pushing whatever little turbo I have to the limit.

On a e8 turbo w 9.8 hotside I was at 372 with all bolt on including an intake mani w 68mm tb on e85.
With duel map if I switched to cal 91 swill then I lost 50-60 hp.
As for putting the e9 like someone allresdy stated loss of maybe 10-15 hp.
