I have a 2003 evo 8 and as the title states, there is a large clunk sound coming from center to passenger side wheel when I put it on 1st and drive off. It also sounds every time I hard brake. It started sounding when the car was jacked up real high from the passengers side and brought down. I checked above and below but nothing seems worn out. Am I overlooking something? Anyone have an idea of what it could be?

You could probably look under and make sure all the bolts are tight and not loose. I have a 2003 Also and you hear a lot of weird clunks and noises coming from the front end. You should be fine

Check to see if you have a coil spring that is broken or not in the right position. I know when springs are not in the right spot in the perch they will make some noise

Check your sway bars and endlinks.Check your drive shaft for play. Get under there, take both hands and try to wiggle it back and forth and note the play.
Lastly, I would check out the rear diff bushings. Make sure the diff is not moving when you are letting the clutch out/ suspension is flexing.

I would start there and start eliminating the most i can.
