Remove Strut brace on engine bay?

Have any of you guys Removed the Strut Brace on the engine bay? I am thinking of removing it to save some weight as long as its structurally sound. I don't want to compromise something breaking or bending, don't know is mitsubishi had it there for a purpose as for the track or not or cause it needs it to reinforce the chasis or so. . I don't ever do track just the 1/4 mile.

Personally, I would keep it. Or spend the money on a lighter aftermarket one.

Of course it' there for a purpose, to stiffen the front chassis up. You can take it off if you want nothing negative will really happen, especially if daily driven or in the 1/4 mile. You may notice a small difference going into hard corners.

Personally, I would leave it on. The bar only weighs 7.44 pounds with the two center mounting bolts. That's not going to shave off anything noticeable in the 1/4 mile. Mitsubishi put it there for a reason. Most people who remove it, switch to something more "blingy", not necessarily for weight reduction, even though aftermarket bars are a couple of pounds lighter (titanium, even more so.) You're call.

I have seen people running without it. You will detract from your handling without it for sure.

This^.

Will it harm anything? Probably not. Will you gain any time by removing it? Probably not (your body weight probably fluctuates more in a day than the strut bar weighs) and it would detract from cornering slightly.

Leave it on there. That's the best looking OEM strut brace I have ever seen and I'm sure it doesn't weigh much. Move your battery to the trunk or go mini. Money better spent.

If you take some on and off ramps on the highway with it on and off you will notice the difference. Unless you are drag racing for money or car titles its a waste of time. Why not just take your entire interior out except for the drivers seat. That would be more beneficial and won't hurt the car's handling.

If your daily drive it leave it alone. Its not a civic where getting power out of it with out boost is hard.

I'm sorry dude but don't do it, that's just stupid. Like someone said just invist on a lightweight one. You take that off the headling on corners won't be that good as it is and hav a good chance on spin out on the track if you track. Everything is here for a purpose on our cars. It's not a civic were it doesnt need it.

I havent had mine on for years. It just gets in the way working on the car and i notice absolutely no difference in handling

Just because the car comes with it, doesnt mean it NEEDS it
