I started the tear down on some extra evo 8 hid headlights in order to paint em. there are 3 little rubber pieces that fell out and i have no idea where they go. they are maybe a 1/4inch long and are cylinder shaped. will try to upload pics

 

Post pics, let's see if we can help out. More than likely it's a seal. Probably goes around the headlight.

 

If you had a damaged evo IX HID headlight and it's only a broken mounting tab could you take a non HID housing and swap the HID guts over?

 

I don't see why you couldn't do it. No fogs right? Either way I think it will work. Anybody else?
