Is Clutch Chatter Normal? Evo IX

My evo had a clutch installed by Mitsubishi, It was an ACT clutch, not sure what model but the clutch pedal is very stiff. Sometimes I hear clutch chatter, is that normal for these clutches?

Yes, a lot of aftermarket clutches can be very noisy. Other than the noise, it is working properly, engaging/disengaging with no issues?

Clutch chatter is normal like the other guy said. Eventually as it breaks in more and more it will start to go away/you'll figure out how to engage your clutch and avoid the chatter.

Noisy clutch gets really annoying when people that don't know start asking what is wrong with your car

Its kind of fun doing it purposefully though to mess with people.

I have had my ACT in for 18k or so miles and the chatter is definitely nothing to worry about. Just something to get used to!

Ive been using an act heavy duty pressure plate with a street disk for about a year and I couldn't hear any noises coming from mine. I know the twin disks like the exedy twin or quartermaster twin disk clutches make quite a bit of chatter though. It's probably okay.. maybe you just got a noisy one or something

I had an HKS GD max twin plate for a long time, I think my favorite comment was:

" Why does your clutch make so much noise, are you running a dry clutch?"

I didn't realize there were wet ones. lol
