Increased engine temperature readings after coolant replacement - Evo IX
Hi all,
I have replaced coolant in my Evo IX MR. Before the change the engine temperature gauge would consistently show 70 degrees, after the flush I've started noticing higher temperatures (around 90 degrees).
What could cause this behavior?
Could the temperature sensor have been damaged during the coolant flush?

When you refill the radiator add enough coolant to cover the core. Idle the engine. Air in the system will expand and push about a pint of coolant back out of the radiator. I just put my hand over the opening and force this coolant over to the jug. The correct way is to use that special big funnel that connects to the filler opening.
When the thermostat opens all the air will come out. Now quickly add more coolant until full (usually about 1/2 gallon) and cap. Make sure the jug is full to the mark. Done.
If you do this no air in the system.
