Remember, insurance companies don't total out a car when that car is easily or cheaply fixed. They total out a car when the value to repair exceeds the velue of the car (or a % of the value of the car), or when the cannot be repaired to bring it back to 100% of it's pre claim condition.
This car would be worth it to buy for parts....thats about it IMHO.

If you have the extra money to own a $15k project car, it could be fun/worthwhile. Especially if you want to upgrade the tires/rims, seats, ic, etc. However, I wouldn't figure it'd be a very good deal for someone who wants to buy an evo as their daily driver (ie doesn't have the extra money to own two cars, etc.). If you figure you see used evos on here for 23k, what's that make a salvage title evo worth? I wouldn't pay much more than 7 or 8k for this "project".

The rear 1/4 panel is steel, and seems to be rusting very quickly !

I dont think it will take much to repair this. Insurance totals it because OEM parts are so expensive. Interior looks good, only missing seats (easliy replacable), aftermarket front mount and new rims. I mean this the perfect opportunity for ppl who cant really afford an EVO. If the car gets sold at 6- 8 k, add another 10k and u get urself a new EVO and Modded!

That is true Jimmy, 18k but with a damaged body. If you can live with a messed up hood etc. and can install all the other parts yourself (some people can't) then it's a decent oportunity.
Body work would be expensive...
Then also you don't know how the car was driven (if it was after it was taken), maybe it was towed and diffs were messed up etc.
You're buying a cat in the sack and will not know what else is wrong until you fully assemble everything.

good luck guys i went to the auction when this car was sold the dealer over paid for the car he will never make his money the car is also missing the ignition key i have see this car from up close its too much money. he has it on their website for $17900 good luck this days you can get evo for 24k and its not salvage title. To put this car back on the road you need adleast good 13k plus the state inspections the parts must be documented it doesent pay try selling a car like this with a salvage title in the future.
