Evo X steering wheel is Evo 8?

In the near future I plan on upgrade from my B16 Turbo Civic to a Mitsubishi Evo 8. I recently test drove an 8 for the first time and I love it, the only issue I had was the steering wheel. Personally I just thought it was ugly and out of place. Well a close friend has an Evo X and I love his steering wheel. I was just curious if it was plug-n-play or if I had to do modification, or even if it will fit at all. Thanks!

Why would the steering wheel bother you, that's such a small thing and why switch from one oem to another oem wheel? Lol just upgrade to an omp or keys or whatever. My advice, Stick with Hondas.

Kind of mean, yet I have to say that I agree.

Ok you guys are ******. The guy asked a legit question and you shot him down with elitist non-answers. He asked to switch steering wheels between evos (which is a clean swap and 8 guys have been doing it with 9 steering wheels since 2006). He didnt ask how to put on a neon flashing wheel!

To the OP. sorry they are not a direct swap. Ive never done it myself but sparco and momo sell different adapters between the IX and X. Which typically means a different spline size/count between the two.

^agree with him. the X steering wheels have all those nifty electronic buttons on it that the VIII's and IX's don't. if you don't mind driving it with the buttons just for show, then more power to you but I would find it kind of out of place but that's just me. but if you could, post up a picture of the steering wheel of that VIII you drove. I'd like to see how it looks myself since I've never heard of it being done before

those are some ******* responses.

but like the guy above me said they are most likely not a direct swap. Also the x has some steering whell functions as where the 8 and 9 do not, meaning there is no plug and play with it. you would have to wire up some things for yor custom setup.

Don't let people ruin your ideas for you.
