I typically would never buy a car that is heavily modified, you just dont know what your getting yourself into.
When i was looking for my evo. I found a great car with afew bolt ons that needed a little tlc. Plus the price was right so i bought it...

I think in general people are more comfortable with a stock motor then a rebuilt one. There are a lot of variables to consider.

good to know that some credit unions will give extra money for a loan. i can understand people's concerns about a car with a built motor and who it was built by. it's still a tough decision. is there as much of a concern from buyers if the stock motor is originally from the car or from another car? since i have a 4g64 long rod motor, i would need to purchase a stock motor to replace it.

For example, that car was totaled, stripped, stolen.... etc
All around a crap shoot, personally, I'd rather buy a vehicle with a built motor by a reputable builder then one which had another 'stock' motor installed.
Unless the stock motor was a crate engine from a dealer.

Most credit unions will allow you to pay 20-30% over NADA or KBB value ( mine used NADA which is notoriously low)
I have Navy Federal bought three cars through them all good experiences
