Rev the car up to around 6-7k with it in 1st with the ebrake off, if it lurches forward beware the clutch is dragging, and who knows how long it's been like that. Clutch drag is a KILLER of transmissions. Which is a costly repair. Also check the fins on the inside of the radiator around the turbo, if some are bent there was probably a bigger turbo installed at one point or an aftermarket o2 housing. Listen for whines in higher gears, loud whines are the transfer case or rear diffs ring and pinion. If you look at an 05 and all three of the ACD lights are on then the pump is most likely bad, unless the abs light is on also then that could be a possible wheel speed sensor. Look for leaks underneath the car. Do a 4th gear pull at low rpm to check if the clutch is slipping.

Luckily that is what I did, and I used 100% of the cash I set aside for repairs. Sheptrans brand new stage 2 transmission replaced the one that came with the car. New OS Giken clutch kit also. Easy way to spend $6k+.

Yeah that's always a must with any car I purchase. Don't want to buy a car and then be stuck and wait to save up money to fix it. thanks though for the info!
