My First Evo (Possibly)
I am looking to purchase a new car and found an Evo that appears to be in good shape (private seller). It is an 03 and has some basic-moderate mods: turbo back exhaust, coilovers, 3.5 stage clutch, 13lb flywheel, 1150 cc injectors, and some others. If you want to see the full list I'll post it at the bottom. My first question is two part, first would this be a decent first turbo car, and second, what should I look out for when I'm purchasing it? Also he has it tuned for E85 blend, any issues I should look for with that?
The car has ~91K miles on it, with ~2k on clutch/flywheel. He also states that most of the mods have been installed locally, not by owner so I'll ask for papers to make sure of that. Past driving experience is 98 mustang, and currently 2010 dodge avenger. The reason why I chose that car is because I like the exclusive of having an evo, hardly anywhere where I love has one, and because it has AWD, greatly helps in the winter, and it has some performance so when I want to have fun I have it available. Thanks for the help!
Ad states: 385awhp and 379wtq
Full list of mods:
Megan exhaust manifold
3In turbo back exhaust
Ported o2 housing
1150 cc FIC injectors
255 Walbro fuel PUMP
E85 TUNE- MAP
Comp stage 3.5 clutch
COMP 13 Pound flywheel
Mishimoto fmic
Mishimoto radiator
Injen ic piping and cai
Hks ssqv bov

My best advice I could give you is take it somewhere and have a buyers inspection done on it. I know the dealers inspection can tell you if anything has been replaced, when needs to be done, any damages, etc. Plus, they also do compression and leak down checks so you know if your motor is healthy.

Definetly have it inspected by a shop or someone who knows evos, take it for a test drive look for anything out of place, run a compression test, make sure maintenance is up to date, ect.

i would also get the car looked at by a knowledgable source. also whats the price point, thats another deciding factor. as far as first turbo car, the evo could be seen as a bit demanding, it is a DRIVERS car, and HAS AMPLE POWER to get away from you if your not careful.
