Correct bleeding procedure?

I am curious if method 2 is correct http://www.wikihow.com/Bleed-a-Slave-Cylinder

I have not heard anyone say before to have someone push in the clutch pedal and to hold it down when using a vacuum bleeder.

Bleeding the system shouldnt vary regardless of the tool used to bleed.
1) crack the screw, have some depress the pedal, hold, tighten bleeder. release pedal. repeat.

there are no tricks, no short cuts. Just one way.

Power bleeders, speed bleeders, mechanical bleeders, etc all work the same way
