This.
If you are doing a 2.0 or 2.3 I would either go with Curt Brown or Buschur.
If you want a 2.4 I would go out to English racing. They seem to have them down to a science.
I'm sure MAP does great work. But they aren't exactly known for their engines. I wouldn't purchase a motor from them personally.

From experience I will never have one shop build a motor and another tune it. Thats just asking for alot of money spent un-necessarily. Only exception is if the shops you use have a extremely close working relationship (STM/BR as an example)....like if something goes wrong with tuning they have no issues calling the engine builder up and working with them to find out what the issue was and resolving it without it costing you and arm and a leg.
Seen it too many times and been a victim.
Have one shop do everything. Even if it means going out of state. It may be more pricey up front but trust me you will save yourself money and heartache in the long run.

the only problem i have with that is regardless of who actually puts the motor together if you have issues during or after tuning its very difficult to get assistance from either the shop/e-tuner you used or the business that built the motor. You have to prove it was either's fault.

Emery at STM and Dave Buschur are stand up guys and I wouldn't hesitate to buy something from either of them. I've seen Buschur engines first hand and they handle whatever you wanna throw at them, and emery has tuned quite a few cars running Buschur engines. I'd drop the car at STM and have them get you setup with a motor from Dave.

Considering where in the U.S. you are living at, and looking for a great shop that is somewhat close by, then STM would be my only choice out there. CBRD and Buschur are a little further away, English Racing is across the other side of the country. If your willing to travel anywhere in the U.S. then your options open up to others. But if you want something more local then Look up STM.
