I have dedicated snows, Alpin PA3's. This car is ABSOLUTELY amazing in the snow. I feel bad for the folks that don't drive their Evo in the winter. It's safe, and ridiculously fun when you want it to be.

I got summer tires in like 6 inches of snow never got stuck but had problems braking. Should be fantastic with snow tires.

Undercoat the bottom of the car in the warmer weather so there's an even slimmer possibility of any of the elements forming rust on the undercarriage.

I would say it comes down to the drivers and conditions. Last snow storm I drove home from work at about 55-65 mph with no issues and on the back roads I was about to go about 35-40. Just drive to your comfort level.

I'm using Yokohama YK580s All Season tires and they work great. Im not worried about traction at all.

I have an evo 8 and X and I run contenental ExtremeContract DWS on both. They kick butt in the snow and are almost as good as summer tires in the dry. I choose them over running separate summer and snow tires mostly because snow tires, although great in the snow, suck in the dry. The loss of traction in the dry is minimal, and to be honest I prefer running these tires than the summer Yokohama's the cars came with because It was hard to determine when those tires were going to break loose. Its also cheaper and easier to run on set of tires.

Good responses guys. Yeah I've noticed, and this is saying a lot, that my car with completely worn out tires(summer) drive fine in the snow and won't get stuck at all, just can't brake well. I think that says a lot. I might just grab some good all seasons and maybe winter tires as well. The undercoating sounds good but I wouldn't know how to go about that. Are there shops that do it?

I'm sure there's shops that do it, but this is something you can do yourself - super easy. I'm sure people have posted videos on Youtube or something also so you can maybe get a better idea of it, but essentially you're just coating the bottom of the car.

I just put brand new blizzaks on this year (225 45 17) and the car is unstoppable in the snow and brakes very good as well!!
