My feedback on the Fcon

This is my setup:
HKS Vpro v3.24 with evo 9 harness
HKS MAP and IAT sensor with harness
HKS navigator - removed
Custom push switch as Scramble switch for 2 step
PLX AFR analog output wired to HKS fCon for Air/Fuel ratio feedback control

Future plan - install Valcon for Mivec tuning or sell the valcon and use ecuflash

1) i have a communication cable(cable provided in the EVC software) for reading and writing maps to my fcon. This is setup if i need remote tuning from fcon tuners
2) i have connected the PLX AFR to my fcon harness for AF feedback, this is one of my fav mod done so far
3) i don't use the 2 step but it was installed and setup by previous tuner
4) I removed the navigator(older version) since it has limited monitoring values and does not give you the capability to change map (only possible for non fcon vpro). the navigator pro does allows for custom value reading from fcon
5) Currently runnning D-Jetro(equivalent to SD) which eliminates the MAF

Likes:
- Setup has been stable and hasn't given me any problems in my 4yrs of ownership. i have tuned it twice so far, 1st time when i first purchase my car(2009) and it came installed with fcon. 2nd time last year with the setup of the A/f feedback
- Able to setup up Air/Fuel ratio feedback and Fcon does the adjustments in all conditions (idle, cruise or WOT)

Dislike:
- Not able to tune Mivec. Options available is to either edit the Mivec map thru ecuflash or get my valcon(lying in my storeroom) installed by HKS
- Limited tuners in my region since it is not open source, thus using remote tuning by fcon tuners
- Not able to revert back to stock since i no longer have the MAF, which is not an issue since i have no plans to remove it.

instead of buying valcon you can buy fcon V4 (swap?) which handles mivec

Michael.

V4 is still too new and a totally new ball game. It does not have a harness for evo9 yet and i have not seen anyone using it. besides, i will lose the flexibility of flashing maps as i wish and most prob lose my AF feedback setup with PLX as well
