evo 9 mivec intake cam gear oil leak. help!

Hey guys. I've been searching this for the better part of all day today. Basically I checked all my fluids today and found my mivec gear is leaking oil. Not sure if it's always or only when the oil pressure gets high enough to activate mivec. Maybe someone has seen this. Maybe someone will know of a cure. Car has 75k miles. Kelford 272's. It's not leaking bad. But I don't like leaks. Here is a pic.

You could try tightening the cap with the big allen...or buy a new crush washer for it. Be carefull, tighten it to much and it will snap!

Yes just like he said. They break pretty easy so check the TQ specs before tightening

Sounds good. Can anyone explain what is being the cap? I haven't looked at an exploded view yet

The camshaft sprocket cap! I stripped this cap loosening it too fast and had to drill it out-_- so be careful and gentle when tightening it! It's made of aluminum and is super malleable

Hey guys I ordered a new cap and washer today. I read somewhere on here you couldn't get it without ordering the entire mivec gear assembly. Here is a print Out Of the parts. Anyone know the torque specs for this cap? Almost recall seeing something like 48 ft pounds. Thanks guys
