Evo IX used car pricing: Thousands over book value

I listed mine just to see what kind of offers I would get, mine has 27,xxx, modded and tuned right, I got multiple offers for 25k that I turned down, wasn't sure I even wanted to sell but if someone had offered me 30K+, I'd probably have really considered it, but now with the Evo discontinued, it's going to be interesting how this market goes in the next 5 years, I think the Evo will follow suit like the Supra did but only time will tell

I love Supras, but will never pay those kids of prices. I'm okay with looking at them in the parking lot 😁
I also can't imagine driving my car stock. It was okay, but not near as fun as now. However....we appreciate those that do, so we can enjoy them later (I'd like another) LOL

Mine is black, so fortunately i didn't pay that crazy price tag. None of the lower mileage factory 6-speed cars are cheap though. The availability and price of Oem parts is what's tough to swallow. I never modded my Evo much, but having access to parts was great. I miss that for sure.

Just for fun I put together some pricing data on all evo 9s with less than 60,000 miles:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...it?usp=sharing
These numbers are just a snapshot from today (10/23/2015), so this will obviously change over time.
All I can tell is that prices are all over the ****ing place.

I'm one of those original owners with a WW MR. Tasteful and proven mods. I've sworn many times over that I will never sell the car, but recently I've been more open to selling it. If ever I was to sell it'll be no less than $30k.
I think the price disparity is from multiple owner cars with multiple rounds of mod-demod, which is common considering the age of the car. I suspect 1 owner cars will demand a premium more than a "stock appearing" car.

It's going to be hard to price used Evo's because the condition of these cars is all over the map. Mileage is one factor but other important factors are multiple owners, abuse, track use, maintenance, cheap eBay mods, paint maintenance, was the car driven during the Winter etc. I think that's why we will see 10K Evo's and 30k+ Evo VIII's and IX's.
