Valve cover

Just recently took my valve cover off and had it powder coated wrinkle blue. Followed a thread to put valve cover back on using the torque specs and cracked the valve cover slightly. Sucks. Anyone done this before. Is there a fix or do I have to suck it up and buy a new one. Anyone have one they are looking to sell.

Valve cover

I was afraid of that. I'm looking to find a used one on here with no cracks but if I can't find one by April then I will have to fork out some money for a stupid mistake. Can't believe it cracked so easily. There pretty costly

I found a thread and it was inch pounds. I read that the inch pounds it listed can be to much. This seems to be a common problem with these valve covers.

Same thing happened to me a while ago. These valve covers are very delicate so ever since then I am very very careful to not over tighten the thing.

Thinking about doing this myself as well. What color did you choose before your unfortunate mishap? Any before after pics?

Just buy a new one. I had a tiny crack and tried to JB it. It looked horrible and it still leaked. Ended up buying a new one.
